Already?

So I'm already falling out of the habit of posting on my blog -__- fail! But I remembered, so I'm actually putting in effort this time! I only have about 7 more days of school left, then I graduate! Ahh!

I'm so excited. Actually I'm just excited to be that much closer to going to college. I already have one giant suitcase packed (which I bought myself, along with all my other college supplies. I'm so independent) so the pain of waiting another 3 1/2 months is actually killing me. I'm trying to keep myself busy, like today for example, I looked on Pinterest.com and decided to do a little art project (unfortunately, it only took me 30 minutes.) so I'm probably just going to do another one when I'm done with this.
I have also been trying to mark my scriptures with all the scripture masteries! I haven't used my scriptures my parents got me when I was 8 for a long time, so I'm trying to get them all marked up (like my seminary scripture set) before I head off to college. Yesterday I spent a solid hour marking the New and Old Testament scripture masteries, and when I was done I wanted to claw my eyes out. So I have the Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants to do today. Well. That is the update. I'm already bored with this whole blog thing, my attention span really does need some work..

Exhaustion

So, I just got back from my youth temple trip and I loved it. I have not been there for over a year due to conflicting school and work schedules, and now that I was able to go I feel so refreshed. I truly have missed being inside that beautiful white building. I saw a duck sitting on the water font outside of the temple and it just made me so happy.

Secondly, I have had a few epiphanies lately. #1. I hate carnivorous animals. I don't like animals that feel the need to eat other animals (I know, I'm a hypocrite simply by being human) but still. I think it's because I have a deep love for cute animals like bunnies, squirrels, puppies, birdies, gerbils...Not sharks, bears, lions, cheetah's, etc. I don't know, I wish we were like in the story of Narnia where all the animals lived together peacefully and everyone got along. I also wish it was easier being a vegetarian. I can resist red meat quite easily (except for bacon) yet when it comes to fish or sushi, its surprisingly more difficult than expected.

#2. taking allergy medicine and not falling asleep is a terrible idea. terrible. idea. I felt so bad, I must have looked like death all day at the youth activity, because I was so out of it. I swear I'm not fully conscious as I'm writing this. Oh well, I'll get a good night's sleep tonight--plus I don't have class until 11:00 so I get to sleep in! Yay!

#3. I can't type anymore due to the exhaustion of my fingers. Good day.

Yay For Free Money!! $$$

So I applied for the LDS Be Smart scholarship, which includes ten $1,000 scholarships awarded to people, and I was one of those ten! Yay!! I got my papers in the mail today to send back so they can send the funds to BYUI, and I'm just getting more and more excited! There's an awards dinner and everything! AHH! So fun.

Also, I'm on the job hunt! I've applied for a nanny position on craigslist, but the lady wanted me to nanny for 6-12 months...with me going to college in September, that obviously wasn't going to happen. So I also went out and applied in person at the Lake Oswego Ice Creamery and UU Yogurt. If anyone knows of any leads please let me know! I'd really appreciate it!

I love that graduation is less than a month away. When I was in 4th grade I was under the impression that I would never reach graduation, that I'd probably die or drop out or something before I got to that point (my self-esteem was fairly low during my younger years...), so getting my cap and gown last week was a real eye-opener! I love how fast my senior year went by. People keep telling me I should slow down and enjoy it...nah. I'm ready to dip. I'm pretty sure I've had senioritis sense junior year--but its even more intense now unfortunately. Have only 3 classes to commit to doesn't help either, but, I must press on if I want to make it to college! Yay!

Wasting Time

So here I am in art class, finished with everything I need to do, bored out of my skull. I thought there would be extra work for me to do or at least something, but nope, looks like I have nothing better to do than be "that person" and blog about how bored I am.
On another note, I am officially turned-off by regular water. Its day 3 sense I have been drinking that lemon/cucumber/mint drink, and when I tried a sip of normal tap water yesterday I was disgusted. That stuff literally has NO FLAVOR whatsoever. I also stepped on the scale for the first time in months, and I learned that I have gained 15-20 pounds sense September. So I guess I picked a good time to start working out every other day and drinking special healthy people water.

Detox

So I was looking around on Pinterest (like always) and I stumbled upon this fancy little health detox drink. It boosts your metabolism, immune system, and supposedly helps your body flush out any water weight your holding in. The recipe seemed simple enough, so I thought, why not?

I went to the store and bought what I needed:
Per 1 gallon of water, recipe calls for:
-1 thinly sliced lemon
-half a thinly sliced cucumber
-handful (10-12) mint leaves (chopped or not)

You let it all sit in the pitcher over night, and then drink up in the morning! Frankly, when you first take a sip of the water, your kind of go into shock because of the lemon/mint combination. At first I was afraid I was going to give up on this health kick because of the taste alone. But, after a few more sips, your body immediately gets used to it! I've had more than 5 water bottles full of it today (trust me, more than I usually drink) and its awesome. Obviously considering its day 1 I haven't seen or felt a difference in me yet, but I'm excited to see what happens within a week or two. Fingers crossed!
